The Hottest Destination This Summer?

Everybody keeps asking me which exotic destination I’m flying to this summer or what I’m doing on the weekend, and I don’t always answer. They tend to think I don’t want to because I want to keep my privacy or because I want to sound snobbish or mysterious. The truth is: destination doesn’t matter as long as I don’t have to carry my agenda around or have a meeting with a client to run to. All I want is to be able to shout out to the world a guilt-free “I matter!” and “Today, it’s all about me!”. Wouldn’t it be nice to just lie on the hot sandy beach and read your favorite magazine without skipping a word, no matter where geographically this place is on the map? Wouldn’t you like to escape the city’s hustle and bustle and spend a week in a nice cozy cottage hidden in the mountains, whether in Europe, in Africa or on the moon? When I hear someone saying: “I need a Va-cay”, I hear them saying: “I need to get back to myself, to feel the breeze on my skin, the sun on my lips, I need to feel the water embrace. I need to feel the earth under my feet.”

Those simple things release all that unhealthy and sickening mental pressure that comes with having to check your email or answer all the instant messages you’ve received.  Traveling is a great way to enjoy doing your own thing and dealing with your own wants. The CHOICE is yours; you can do whatever you like, go wherever and whenever you wish solely based on your intuition, your inner voice. You can discover every nook and cranny of a city without anyone guiding you into it (that’s why i don’t take tours). You get to arrange your own itinerary which can also mean there’s no itinerary. Go visit that cute little bar in downtown Athens and take a sip of a tongue tingling ouzo, clap to some flamenco in Sevilla or even kick a ball around in the favelas of Rio; thing is, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is listening to your inner self that you have forced to shut down for the past 11 months. That’s when the journey really starts. So are YOU ready?!
